"recording guitar"

date: July 7, 2007

Recording is just really expensive. I'd say you'd wanna double track (with different mics if you've got them) most of the guitar parts it's all about layering with like a low/mid/high track to really have a big full tone. Also experimentation with different mic positions can have a big impact on tone. Nice translation

"Nice use of the Sick of it All riff"

date: July 7, 2007

Ha that's cool mixing the hardcore riff with the wacky 8bit drum and bass stuff, a fun listen

RECOIL - Secorah

"that's some rippin' metal!"

submission: RECOIL - Secorah

The song is very diverse and flows well I like the tasteful use of thirds to up the intensity. The only thing I really don't like is the black metal vocals....in my opinion Napalm Death and Soulfly have great screaming vocals I would work more towards that sort of vibe a grizzly bear sound not a dying witch otherwise cool stuff

"not enough meat"

You really have a good understanding of harmonies but what your music lacks is powerful bar chord riffage, an example of that being Master of Puppets; to really back up the high flying stuff.

"Metallica/Morbid Angel Kung Fu Challenge"

date: February 24, 2005

Your production is good although I think you need some bass guitar it sounds thin. Your a good guitar player but the riffs sound generic man.... like Master of Puppets meets Morbid Angel. Frankly I'm into more experimental bands like The Locust, Curl Up and Die, Cephalic Carnage and Napalm Death
if you haven't heard those bands check'em out, expand your mind

Author's Response:

ofcourse ive heard those bands. im not a big fan of the locust cephalic carnage or napalm death. im more into Terrorizer(i think they were better than napalm death) captain cleanoff birdflesh and so on. this song has NO progression what so ever haha. i just used it because i liked the way i made the intro. but yeah the my riffs have a little more influence then most straight forward grindcore bands. i dont own a bass. if i did id use it.
